Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 May 07, 2009 12:38 am Hi All, Does anyone have any comments/gotchas/pitfalls of being an owner builder in the Blue Mountains? The LEP is now pretty strict in terms of bush fire prevention but I guess that is the case in all fire prone areas these days. Any stories of things I should watch out for or potential hurdles with the council would be much appreciated. Tyrrels also provide an excellent guide to owner building for free on their website, I will be doing my owner builder exam with them which is required to apply for the owner builders license. Maybe we can help each other anyway. Where abouts are you building? Iām just in the process of replacing 2 stud walls that have been severely damaged by termites and am planning to use h2 blue pine.
