It would, but it won't . They either generously offer to take it back for free (steel) or for a modest 55% of the original price (brick lintel). Suppliers of ancilliary stuff're best, they only take 10% off the original price for re-stocking, but that doesn't cost much. I'll try Quokka or E-bay I guess. We have a lot of timber left, we have no idea what to do with it. I surely don't want to keep any of it, otherwise those nasty so and so's, the termites, will come to eat on our block!!!! I surely don't want to keep any of it, otherwise those nasty so and so's, the termites, will come to eat on our block!!!! dam i need timber too but perths just a tad too far stay safe happy building Re: What do you O-Bs do with the left-over stuff ? 8May 03, 2009 10:50 pm Hi All, from experience, i'd say don't throw, sell or give away anything until ur totally finished ur build, u'll be surprised where u can use spare material, sometimes using what u already have is cheaper than buying extra if u do a bit of lateral thinking- ie if ur making a workbench in ur shed or garage, angle iron from left over lintels can make good workbench legs or frame.....left over timber can be used to make walkway thru the ceiling space....animal cage for kids or grandkids.... if u have nowhere to store material, simply get it up off the ground & cover with black plastic. when ur sitting back with house built, garden finished & absolutely nothing left to do, & ur bored silly, u can have a garage sale or simply keep it ready for ur next o/b project it will take 7 years to finish i recon cheers tony Re: What do you O-Bs do with the left-over stuff ? 9May 04, 2009 1:41 pm bingoshelley dam i need timber too but perths just a tad too far We scored a heap of merchant grade from a commercial build near us - they were only too glad to give it to us as it saved them dumping costs.
