Many thanks! 3Apr 28, 2009 5:13 pm yes owner builders do get the fhog there are different ways to apply depending on your situation. if you are getting finance through a bank then they can apply for you if you are financing it yourself then you have to have your foundations laid by the 30th june or you will miss out on the newest grants. then you have only 18 mths to get it to occupancy stage after foundations are laid or you loose the newest grant if you ring the sro they are very friendly and helpful and can assist you further stay safe happy building Re: If owner builder could get FHOG? Or is all you need a receipt that you had your foundations laid? Re: If owner builder could get FHOG? Many thanks! 6Apr 29, 2009 10:54 am Once you have poured your foundations, that is a mandatory inspection from your Building surveyor, my understanding is that inspection once ticked off will be proof of the date of the foundations being laid. Re: If owner builder could get FHOG? Many thanks! 7Apr 29, 2009 12:22 pm FROM SRO: To qualify for the first home boost and bonus as an owner builder, your foundations must be laid by 30 June 2009. If your foundations are laid after this date, you would be able to apply for $7,000 only. Re: If owner builder could get FHOG? If you paid for concrete and/or steel rods in order to lay the foundations yourself. Once you have done this, you should have received a letter from the council stating that they have checked the foundations and this letter will state whether you have met council regulations. RevenueSA will accept a copy of the receipts for the purchase of the concrete and rods and the letter from the council as proof of the date the foundations were laid. ....if someone else lays the foundations, just an invoice or receipt for that is required. Re: If owner builder could get FHOG? Many thanks! 9May 01, 2009 6:28 pm yes they will acept reciepts for concrete ect..however as we decided to do it by hand and not truck we had brought our cement months before so couldnt actually prove when we poured it however my inspector done his inspection in nov so he said it will be on the final occupancy certificate as to the foundation date so we are ok thankfully stay safe happy building Hi VK, I am now retired however I have stood beside over 300 owner builders in the past 18 years that have successfully built their own homes.
