Re: Almost done after 4 years !! 4Apr 03, 2009 8:39 pm Hi Cyclone, well done - if u got the home u wanted for around the price & u did it urself what does a little time matter i don't know about Qld, but yes i've got one straight electric HWS in my build - its in the guest wing - 50 lit with instant boost deliberately for city folk who love long showers - its hooked to scheme water. in our section we have solar & tile fire combo with elect boost hooked to rain water. BUT i also have an 18 panel solar voltaic system to produce power....if u have a bit of spare cash at anytime, i'd recommend u look at this as there have been (not so much at present) some fantastic gov rebates - i recon this will happen again in near future. people will tell u solar power is uneconomical, that depends on how u do the figures - i'd sooner put money into infrastructure than into investments. once ur system is paid for u can wholely or particially cover some of the power cost increases. again well done on nearing completion - hope u enjoy the new house cheers tony Re: Almost done after 4 years !! 5Apr 03, 2009 8:55 pm ok whats this no electric hot water systems what do we use is this just in qld or all over.great u got me worried now lol ooops congrats lol stay safe happy building Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built.
