Go down Dan Murphy's or wherever and buy a few slabs of beer and a few cases of wine, cleanskin or similar. You could probably spend maybe $200 total. Then if you need something done which could be seen as an extra, or a favour, offer a bottle or a 6 pack. But don't say "if I give you this wine, will you finish this by today/change a bit here/sign this off now..." Just say "A mate bought a truckload of booze from a warehouse that was closing down for next to nothing, he gave me some, would you like a bottle? Actually, while you're here, do you think you could finish this by today/change a bit here/sign this off now..." My boss, believe it or not, even used this trick with building inspectors and his local council officials...... He reckoned it paid for itself 10 times over.
