I asked an electrician for a quote. There was no power points or light fittings or light switch points on the architect home plan.
Neither was there any specific details on the specifications.
He then told me that I should choose how many per room and where they go.
But, I am no expert, and if I guess the spots, I can easily choose a wrong spot.
The electrician has experience about these things, so should he to do it?. ( I am assuming that this should already be included in the quote anyway).
Also, he said something about not liking the house plan because they had "small squares" markings on them (they look a bit faded, so they are not that distracting). He told me to go get the architect to get the ones printed without the small square markings on them. I don't see a difference on whether the markings are there or not, it doesn't change anything on the house plan.
Should I get someone else to give me the quote? No other sub-contractor has complained about the way the house plan looks and as far as I know, part of the electricians job is to choose the correct spot where switches etc get put in + how many for each room. O.K, so I can input some info, for example an extra power point in this room because it is a larger room and used for tv, dvd player + speakers, so some extra points would be handy there, but as far as choosing where, I might get it wrong.
