I'm wondering what a site survey includes, and whether I need one in preparation for planning a house on a 3 ha "semi rural" property in SE NSW. The site boundaries are already marked out by star pickets that match the site boundary shown in SIX maps (verifying with my GPS with an error of under 1m). I don't plan on building within ~20m of any boundary so getting a surveyor out to validate the boundaries precisely seems not useful. It is flat (within maybe 0.25m) for at least 50m in every direction from where I'd like to locate the house, and it's not in a flood area.
There are some trees that I will probably need to remove as part of the build - are tree locations generally part of a site survey?
