Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jun 05, 2023 1:47 am Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA. Feeling pretty (overly) confident on the building and construction details, but really struggling to find specific regulations that apply to owner builders in SA. I understand most states have specific OB permits, but SA doesn't. What I'm struggling to find is what are the requirements then? Can anyone just hire contractors (or do the work themselves) assuming they have a building certifier (and the contractors are licenced etc.). Seems to be a few OB in SA, but nothing is ever mentioned about permits. Assuming you just need a certifier, can anyone in SA make any recommendations? Thanks in advance You wont need a permit to put in non loading partition but you will need a licensed plumber and a licensed electrician 1 6786 I don’t think so as the floor area over 300 square meters then it is class 3…. 12 18208 No, not yet.
