Just flagging that this was a pretty old thread. If you want an up to date spreadsheet with current 2013 prices you are more than welcome to download my spreadsheet for free. I do these for clients and they are a great reference for your project. The only thing that will change is the quantities and local rates.
If you combine the information from your estimate into your spreadsheet then you will have a very robust system to help keep you in control of the cost of your project.
It does require some brain power initially but once you work out that the sheets are linked and automatically update your master spreadsheet then you will find that the process of keeping track of your costs is quite simple. It is the same process most builders use especially if they are managing multiple projects.
