I have inquired with QBCC but they just send me the standard requirements same as their website & haven't answer specific questions.

"A person who carries out building work under an owner-builder permit must exhibit at a prominent position on a building site..."
- be clearly visible from the street
- show your owner builder permit number
- be made of weatherproof material
- be at least half a square metre in size
- be printed in letters at least 50mm high.
*1. On my rural property, I don't think I can comply with the "be clearly visible from the street" as
- The nearest street is 8000m distance.(in town)
- The entrance to my property is 300m from the build site & via another private property.
- If they imply a public road is a street for the purpose of the requirement the sign would not be on my land.
*2. Would my whole property be deemed a building site? Even though the property is several hectares & the actual build site is hundreds of meters from the entrance boundary.
The building site is well defined cut & fill site with only one road access, it seems logical? to place the sign at the entry to this site.
It seems the "be clearly visible from the street" is targeted for built up residential areas.
At least the requirements state "visible" & not "readable", so I could put it up on the hill (where I can see the road)
I will have specific safety signs at the build site entrance.(not property entrance)
I wonder if there is a more specific document other than QBCC web pages.
