However if you only signed a preliminary contract for soil tests and plans then you may be able to get out but in all cases get legal advice. Second issue: Do you really want to do that? I have heard of builders cancelling valid contracts and refunding deposits because they can no longer build for the contracted price. Thirdly, what will you do? Do you think there is another builder just twiddling waiting for you. Builder have never been busier and prices of everything are skyrocketing. Even if you find another one, it won't be faster or cheaper but more likely a financial disaster for you. Take a cold shower and think carefully.
