As you are almost done, could you ask your Dad & Co. if they would like to spend a weekend in the Hunter....lol!! Life's too short too drink bad wine Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - blinds, carpet, deck 83May 25, 2009 12:20 am wow very very nice bet that pink rooms your bedroom congratulations guys stay safe happy building Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - blinds, carpet, deck 84Jun 12, 2009 3:32 pm Thanks for the comments guys. We need to actually step back and think about where we've come from in the last 15 months. We're just busting to get in there, although they've been fabulous, its about time we moved out of the in-laws. We're still plugging away slowly. Making some more (what feel like very small) dents in the list of jobs. Had a busy long weekend finishing off the deck and getting posts ready for glass. Power point ended up being right where we wanted to put the mirror. Poor planning on my part led to this one. We only picked the vanities once bathrooms were all finished. Should have had them picked out when plumber was putting the pipes in. So we made a huge mess and pulled 2 tiles off. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And in between all this we've got a bunch of skirtings cut and on. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The plumber is coming back this arvo (hopefully), and then a couple of days next week. So hopefully by the end of next week we might be able to seriously think about moving in. We have just moved into our new house that we had built, call us crazy, but we have got our eye on 20 acres and are thinking of building our own house in it Don,t get me wrong...we absolutely love our new house, but having come off of an acreage it,s taking a bit of getting used to having close neighbours (even though they are all lovely) and we are in a very rural area on quite a large block, but to have a house in the middle of some acres would be fantastic..... Anyway,I look forward to following your progress and seeing lots more pics Cheers Mel Building on 9 acres Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - blinds, carpet, deck 86Jun 15, 2009 5:51 pm Thanks Mel. Hopefully we'll get to sit back and take it all in one day very soon. We can relax for a day, then start on the outside We love the idea of living on a few acres, but have heard stories of people not being able to cope with the extra work keeping things under control. Hopefully we'll be right, we'll have to teach the 2 girls to use the ride-on very soon The plumber was in on Friday afternoon, so now we've got some taps and a loo! Haven't been down to see where they're at, but they'll be back on Wednesday to finish anything that needs doing. We got the glass into the deck and I stuck the hand rails on. I'm liking how it turned out. Just need to secure the glass now. Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - blinds, carpet, deck 88Jun 15, 2009 11:35 pm looks really good Peter - gee u certainly rattle along mate.......love the tiling work, ur tile colours r very similar to ours - but urs r the bigger size. i'm years behind in fashions so we've only progressed in size a little bit & needed 200mm x 200mm to get a particular pattern worked in that i'd see b4 & had never tried....if it comes out like urs i'd be very pleased well done - cheers tony. Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - blinds, carpet, deck 89Jun 23, 2009 11:27 am That weekend off is coming up very soon mrs_martin. Or I hope it is. Maybe I'll get one day. Or a half one. Or at least a couple of hours We're busting out guts to be in the house Tony, hence the rapid progress. The in-laws are keen for us to move in too, I think they've had enough of us and our 2 girls messing their place up. We're really happy with the job the tiler did. And he was a good guy to boot. The plumber is now all finished, so we've got hot water and all the taps are working. Although they do need to come back to sort the dishwasher out for us. Congrats on moving in. I'm most envious of your beautiful hosue and the currounds. Would love to have that much space. Still having to wait a while to move into ours. Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - moved in! 93Jul 01, 2009 12:47 pm And we're in! We moved in last Friday and spent our first night down here. Spent the weekend moving the rest of our junk in. I tell you what, its a very, very good feeling to be in living in your own space. But at the same time its weird to sit back and think that its actually ours. We've never had our own place before. The kids are settling in well, and Maya even slept through the night the last 3 nights, so she must love the place! I'm loving that the kitchen bench is now clean and not full of junk. The kitchen is really good to use. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And I love the tap. Bit of an extravagance, but it is right in the middle of the bench. All is good. We just need to not slack off too much and keep plugging away at the other jobs that need doing. We are going to take some time-out on the weekends now to do some things as a family. Finish painting doors and touch up skirtings is next on the list. And make a start on getting a slab down for the garage. They're the next list of things to do. Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - We've Moved In! 97Jul 01, 2009 1:48 pm Wow, you've just built my dream home! We were thinking at one stage of buying a block on a hill in Bridgetown (WA) and building a kit home like that... Ah well! Hope you'll be very happy there. It's an achievement Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - We've Moved In! 98Jul 01, 2009 4:41 pm Thanks guys. We're really loving it. We've never had this much space before. Takes a bit of getting used to. JohnandTarin, the handrail is our idea. We got some prices for a complete system with the glass panels. But in the end the way we did it cost half as much. We got a guy to supply the glass panels. JB, I had to go measure the bench, I couldn't remember how big it was. 2950 x 1200. We were going to go 900, but that would have been a bit more expensive than the 1200 cause they would have had to cut a 1200 sheet down. Plus the extra bench space is awesome. Gotta get some stools for along the front now. And Dragonfly, its turned out pretty much exactly how we wanted it. Or it will when its finished Cheers, Pete viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8824 Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - We've Moved In! 99Jul 01, 2009 6:10 pm PeterH JB, I had to go measure the bench, I couldn't remember how big it was. 2950 x 1200.
