I gave my partner a book with dates that he can write on of expenses for our build. Did you think something get written to it? Nope. He said it does not really matter. I still do want to know how much we have spent for this build. So I will be taking over from now on and will write things down and try to backtrack as much as I can.
We have ordered and paid for our roof trusses and deck frames/steel posts yesterday. I think it is the second dearest thing so far (slab is the first) that we have spent money on in one go. It cost us $18,600 almost.

Good to keep track of the expenses. I've been doing it since day dot with good old pen and paper. It certainly adds up when you take into account all the little bits on top of the big bits LOL. We've had a few dear items. Frame alone was $42,000. But by far the dearest item has been the bricks. To buy and lay has cost us just shy of $100,000. So you have a huge saving with your bricks and bricklayer LOL!
