Hi all!
Well we are a family of four that isn't going to get any bigger (I hope!). I would love some advice on being semi-eco. Admittedly, and I'm just being honest, I like a bit of pizazz, so am a little reluctant to sacrifice on some things.
I am planning on a water tank connected to laundry and WC - what size is recommended (obviously bigger is better, but we don't have loads of room).
I still want downlights but are going to get eco bulbs - des enyone have any feedback on these?
We are having solar installed - has anyone heard of the Chromagen system and if so, what do you think?
We can't afford double glazing, but have lots of windows on the north (although there is an alfresco - so does that eliminate the benefits of north facing?) and minimal on the south.
We plan to have tiles in the north facing areas and carpet in the remainder.
I plan to hang curtains in the bedrooms (south facing).
We will be installing an Archer 5.6 star fireplace which we will use for most of our heating and only use the ducted to take the edge off before bedtime and maybe in the morning.
Does anyone recommend an efficient evaporative cooling and ducted heating unit.
Insualtion will be 1.3 sisalation, 2.0 in walls and 3.5 in roof.
Any other suggestions will be more than appreciated!
Warm Regards,
Elizabeth
