Browse Forums Eco Living 1 Jan 07, 2020 7:04 am Hi All We have a house that was built September 2018 and have been noticing during the day the hot water system making loud noises. As our bedroom is right behind the unit it’s irritating but if this noise the video below is perfectly normal then it’s something we can live with, just want to know if it’s normal. It’s a Chromagen unit if that helps. The supply has been working okay, just the pressure isn’t great but some bad piping was done during the build apparently. It was repaired but the pressure could be higher. Unsure if it’s related. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0afK6tI ... g#Pakenham Re: Solar Hot Water noises 5Feb 10, 2020 9:44 am Jomo Link is now working, sounds like air in the system to me - could be due to low supply pressure? What model is this heater? I’ll check when I get home. Our water pressure has been low for a while, but was told that’s how solar hot water is normally. It’s a Chromagen 20SV Tank with 200 litre capacity and minimum supply pressure of 60kpa if that helps.. Product Code SV20AWR0LEA0 Thanks Re: Solar Hot Water noises 7Feb 10, 2020 12:29 pm No idea sorry mate, I'd recommend talking to your installer if possible. I was unable to find the manual for that particular product, however I did read in the commissioning instructions for their commercial product that bleeding air from the system should be completed - https://www.chromagen.com.au/images/PDF_BROCHURES/Commercial-PDFs/Service-Manual.pdf >When the tank is filled, the primary circulation pump must be bled. Unscrew the silver bleed screw on the side of the pump housing, allowing a few drops of water to escape and then tighten.
