Browse Forums Eco Living 1 May 31, 2017 1:06 am Hi We recently had an aquaplate colorbond tank installed to replace an old galvanised tank for whole house water needs (no town water). A couple of days after it was installed we started noticing the water seemed to intermittently smell weird. Really hard to describe, kind of plasticy, but with a sweetish solvent type smell at times. Frustratingly we actually had a whole house filter system installed about 3 weeks prior (water was beautiful before the new tank). A small section of new pipe was put in (before the filter) at that time, but no new pipe at the time the new tank installed. So we dumped the water and got another load delivered, but again after it was in there a couple days the smell started again. Has anyone noticed this as "normal" for an aquaplate tank, and if so what type of filter do we need to filter it out? (Or what IS causing the smell?) Thanks for any insight at all!
