The brick has an R of 1.2 and a block has a R of ~0. But either one you use will need insulation. but building with blocks is a lot faster. What would you recommend? And for the insulation what will be better?

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure if you are talking about standard bricks, but that seems a little high to me. A friend sent me this table the other day, it might be useful.
