In particular there is a table in NCC that specifies the maximum area and U value of the roof light after taking into account the shaft index. Hopefully the supplier of the roof light is familiar with the NCC and can advise you on a complying installation. A wired LED diffused flat panel would be much brighter and probably cheaper as well. If you want it to come on only in darkness there are a lot of options to do this also.
