Browse Forums Eco Living 1 Feb 22, 2013 3:53 pm Hello, Trying to choose a gas boiler for our domestic hot water and I'm looking into the condensing ones. So far I can only find: Bosch: http://www.bosch-climate.com.au/product ... ing-range/ Rinnai: http://www.rinnai.com.au/index.php?opti ... d=2&id=293 Does anyone have any experience with these or can recommend any other brands to look into? Have had it in our new extension/renno for two summers now and it will have paid for itself (the small extra cost of a condensing boiler) by the end of this summer. Our gas bill drops away to virtually nothing and this is in a house where the two girls love long showers. My biggest regret is thatwe didnt install a condensing boiler to power our hydronic heating as well. I was looking through some of the whirlpool forums and they were saying that the difference between the condensing and non-condensing wasn't worth the extra $$. Did you look into that? Seriously go for the 6star HWS even if you aint a greenie, your accountant will love you. Re: Domestic Hot Water Systems - Condensing boiler 5Feb 22, 2013 8:36 pm Haha...I like the idea of choosing the greener options so the condensing one is definitely appealing. Bit off topic, where is your boiler in relation to your bathroom? We're a bit restricted in where we can put it given the clearances required, so we might have to put it approx 15m away. It does take about 30 seconds to reach the shower especially now we have the new (manditory )flow restrictor in at the water meter. We did consider the smart start option, but after doing my sums...you have to be nuts to go with that option. A. it uses more electricity than all of the lights i run around turning off and B. who gets into the shower the instant its turned on anyway. Re: Domestic Hot Water Systems - Condensing boiler 7Feb 27, 2013 8:22 am Think we have decided on the Bosch one as it can fit on the wall outside the bathroom. The Rinnai one can't! Question though, I don't know much about these things but are we being less efficient because we're going for a 26 instead of a 20 (which would do us fine?). i.e. does the fact that we're going for a bigger capacity which we're unlikely to maximise usage cancel out the efficiency of going with the condenser? I also checked how long it took for our furtherst shower to warm up and it was less than I thought. I guess it just feels longer but in reality it only took 15 seconds for the water to reach full temp the sun master is the solar heating to "warm" the water in the tank the S26 is your hot water system which will heat the water (25 degrees?) so with both turned on you… 2 14014 I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black.
