Dear Members,
We received our water bill today claiming that we'd used up 57kL which works out to be 310L per person / per day.
It seemed unusually high, so I simply stepped outside to check our meter which reads much LESS than the current reading ( recorded 18/11/08 ) and printed on the bill.
Our actual current reading subtracting the last reading, works out to be only 30kL, in turn, 151.5 L average daily water usage per person - which is better but can still be reduced further with more conscious half-flushes, and even shorter showers.
It's all sorted now after speaking with Yarra Valley Water, but a reminder to check the reading on your water bills with that of your meter.
It may save you considerably, as in our case more than 50% of the bill will be wiped off - as it's now divisible by an additional 7 more days when the new current reading date is updated on our bill.
To see if your within the 'Target 155' numbers, calculate your water usage here:

Hope this helps.
