Hi folks. Posted similarly in kitchens too.... I plan to have a plywood kitchen and other joinery in a living space, doors only, not benchtops (maybe Kauri or Fijiian Cedar?). I have been told that marine ply is not necessary and that furniture grade should be fine. But what about the letters describing the smoothness of each face? I read someone was happy using BB...?
Ultimately, I want the timber to look like timber (and feel like timber?) I would rather not have a thick glossy coating like two pack poly and am thinking of using an oil. However, I have concerns about hygeine and staining. Has anyone used Osmo Oil or Hardwax oil? How environmentally friendly are they? What about Livos oil or Wittlewax? Any other suggestions?
Thanks! Love this forum!
