Browse Forums Eco Living 1 Oct 14, 2012 7:07 am We upgraded from the Rinnai Infinity 26 gas hot water heater to the Rinnai Infinity 26 Enviro and were charged $550 extra for plumbing and electrical by the builder. I didn't question it at the time because two water controllers were included in the quote but, as it turns out, not installed. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether there is other work associated with installing this gas hot water heater that would justify these plumbing and electrical charges in the absence of water controllers? Re: Rinnai Infinity 26 Enviro- extra for tempering water? 2Oct 15, 2012 6:56 am The builder has now come back to me with an answer - he says that we had to pay an extra $300 for the condensation pipe (which was never fitted) and "another item that was required for tempering the water". The $250 was for the extra wiring and additional powerpoint. Don't all gas hot water heaters need a powerpoint? And is there any extra wiring if you have no water controllers? Re: Rinnai Infinity 26 Enviro- extra for tempering water? 3Oct 25, 2012 8:45 pm Both the Rinnai Infinity 26 and 26 Enviro require a power-point. The tempering valve wouldn't be required if a temperature limited 50°C unit was installed. If the controllers were specified in your contract they should fit them. When we looked at the Rinnai range the additional energy savings the 26 Enviro model offered didn't justify the higher cost. 0 15694 From what I know about water tanks (I've been working with a client on them for a few years now) is this - The concrete can last a lifetime if they don't crack for some… 2 10638 |
