We lived in the country in NZ and everyone used to be into preserving fruits, making jam, freezing veges etc in a big way as most people had large vege gardens and/or an orchard. Hers were Agee jars and lids. I'd do a google search for these ( or other brands ) if you want to buy them new or ebay for secondhand - much cheaper. As long as the bottles are not cracked and the jar lids are rust free with good seals they should be fine. What is a pressure canner by the way ? I think from memory we just simply boiled the fruit in a sugar syrup then placed the mixture into the jars that had been sterilised in the oven at a hot temperature. Sterilising the jars and washing the lids plus seals in very hot water as well as ensuring there were no air bubbles in the jars was the secret. Some of the pickled onions, gherkins, olives etc were simply blanched then placed in a vinegar based pickling solution and into the jars as above. We had very few failures doing it this way.
