Browse Forums Eco Living 1 Aug 01, 2012 1:56 pm I am looking at building a new home with either Alkira Homes (Alicia) or Vogue Homes (The Cardinal or the Lifestyle) who are both located at Catherine Field. Can anyone give me any feedback whether they have used either company recently to build their home and how they found them. Thanks Re: Alkira Homes and Vogue Homes 2Sep 09, 2012 6:48 am I am also considering building a home with Vogue Homes. Also considering Rawson Homes. Has anyone had any experience with either of them? Which one would you recommend! Re: Alkira Homes and Vogue Homes 3Sep 12, 2012 9:29 am We have just signed up with Vogue Homes after our last builder went bankrupt, and I have to say that so far, the service has been absolutely fantastic. Within 5 weeks of hearing about them and going to see the display homes, we have final plans and pricing, and our plans are being lodged with Lend Lease this week for approval before going to council. We are building a modified version of The Lifestyle, upstairs is pretty much the same but downstairs is very different. The proof will be in the finished product, but we have heard from a friend who works for another builder that Vogue Homes workmanship is up there with the best so I am sure we won't be disappointed. After meeting with close to 20 builders, Vogue Homes have also come back with the best price. I will keep you posted on our progress anyway, but have to say that so far they have been great. I have tried or been in contact with a few like Sekisui, masterton, rawson, eagle and casaview plus more. Some of them were way overpriced, others didn't return my calls/emails and I even had one that said if you work for us we will work for you! (they wanted to me to chase up council control plans, requirements etc hahaha). Any ways, all the best with your build. I am leaning towards Vogue! Re: Alkira Homes and Vogue Homes 5Nov 21, 2012 8:30 am Hi Michaelhart, Just wondering if you have chosen a builder yet? I have to say that after everything we have been through with the bankrupt builder, we could not be happier with the way things are going with Vogue Homes. Our plans have just been approved by council, it has taken them 3 months to do what the other builder couldn't do in 18 months. Looks like we will finally be starting construction in about 2-3 weeks. Hope things are progressing for you too. I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home. We also swapped some rooms around and tackled a major… 2 10049 Ask for references and speak to them.
