That bill was feb to May so don't know what our winter bill would look like. I don't think it's useless in Winter. We have plenty of sunny days and don't use much electricity during the day so it will be interesting to see. Hope it goes well. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: first bill with solar power installed 5Jul 19, 2011 6:45 pm thanks.i know they have not read the meter since feb because they could not read it because the meter number had not been changed in there system so we just got a bill for 5 months finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 6Jul 19, 2011 6:47 pm We're pretty happy with what our inverter is telling us but how that translates on the bill will be interesting. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: first bill with solar power installed 7Jul 19, 2011 6:51 pm Yvette, it certainly doesn't sound right to me but I guess there are a lot of factors that contribute to a bill and how much your feedback tariff is. I would have expected more back. Have you had a particularly cloudy time in sunny Queensland?:) Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: first bill with solar power installed 8Jul 26, 2011 4:41 pm Quote: we have just got first bill with solar power installed a 2.1kwh system that started feeding into the grid April 2011.They have not read our meter since feb and we still got a bill for over $800 and were credited with a only $26.00 back from the grid does this sound and if not what to do i am new to this and really confused now Im not sure how they do things in Qld but in SA I had my solar system (3.04Kw) installed at the end of April. The meter went backwards until my new import/export meter was installed in mid-May. The existing meter was read at changeover, and again in mid-June when my usual billing cycle ended. My bill was half what it usually is, even for that short period since installed, which satisfied me during winter when my power generated just covers my use. When Spring arrives generation will improve Your system is 2.1 Kw (no 'h'). Has your use increased? Arfur Re: first bill with solar power installed 9Aug 06, 2011 12:40 am Are you on a Net meter? It sounds like you need to do an energy audit of your house as your usage is very high indeed with an $800 bill. If you have a Net meter then you may just be using way more than you produce. We have a 1kw system on a gross meter and have averaged a $40 credit per bill for the last year in southern NSW! We are very careful with power though and have spent a lot to reduce our usage to bugger all. Steve Re: first bill with solar power installed 10Aug 06, 2011 5:14 pm steve the $800 bill was for almost six months, uncle arfur what do you mean your system is 2.1kw(no'h") according to use on the bill our use of eleciticity when down finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 11Aug 06, 2011 5:16 pm no idea if net meter finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 13Aug 07, 2011 9:21 am the feed in trarif is 0.44 kwh.I have read the manual for the inveter time and time again, but have not been able to work out how to show how much you generated at all,it shows all other stuff not the stuff I am after,I think it is all a bit hard to use really finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 14Aug 07, 2011 9:54 am i think we are on net meter when that is what is said we should be on here in qld.the electirty bill said we generated 60kwh of power at 0.44 that is $26.00. finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 15Aug 07, 2011 10:13 am There will be a reading on the inverter that will tell you the total amount of kwh produced, you just need to work out how to get that reading On a net meter you only export unused power, so you are essentially only sending power back to the grid when your production is higher than your usage at a given time. You are only credited for your surplus. Your usage is quite high (based on your bill of around $400 a quarter plus the power you used from you PV rig). You should be producing about 8-9 Kwh a day from your PV's on average. I would suggest you do an energy audit of your house to work out your total usage, that will identify big power users in your house (fridge, HWS, HVAC etc are the usual suspects) and you can then look at ways of reducing your total usage down so you are not paying so much for surplus usage. Steve Re: first bill with solar power installed 16Aug 07, 2011 11:07 am we have already had a audit of our house just before the solar power was used.I donot call $400.00 a quarter bill high for six people high thought.that was the bill including all the charges including abumlance charges that we no have here in qld.I was never looking for the system to taken care of the whole bill would need a much bigger system to do that. The system i have found out in bigger than first thought it is 2.6kwh system not 2.1kwh finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 17Aug 07, 2011 11:09 am we have gas hot water and all the energy saving lights etc.we do have a home treatment system that runs all the time and pumps for our water but not much you can do about then living on a rural property.we do have a pool that runs for 4 hours nightly finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: first bill with solar power installed 18Aug 10, 2011 12:39 pm 60kWh generation is extremely low. Even in winter a 2.1kW system should produce 10 kWh per day. Your system is 2.6kW (no h) means- your system has a power rating of 2.1kW. In one hour, this produces energy of 2.6kWh. In hours it will produce 5.2kWh. The 'h' means hours. Do you have an old meter with a spinny disc thing or a new electronic one? You should have an electronic net meter. In Qld we have a net tariff, so what you use during the day is subtracted from what you produce. Go to your meter first thing tomorrow morning, read the number. Go back tomorrow afternoon and read the number again, this will give your usage for the day. Have a look at your inverter- it should tell you so many kW (or W), and give you a kWh reading for the day also. What inverter is it? Re: first bill with solar power installed 19Aug 10, 2011 12:48 pm What was the outcome of the energy audit ie total daily useage? Pool pumps can suck huge amounts of power (like30 kw day) I would suspect that is the bulk of your problem? Normally an energy audit will pinpoint the hot spots in your house ( fridges/freezers, pool pumps, water heating etc) and detail how much power they are using, do you have that detail available? Our local library has Sustainability Kits available for loan, it may pay to check if they are available in your area, they include a meter to measure power usage of appliances to identify where you power goes. Re: first bill with solar power installed 20Aug 10, 2011 2:38 pm steve we already have a meter that tells measures our usage, the audit didnot pinpoint anything really. They said the pool pump was not a real problem as it is only on 4 hours in the early hours of the morning.thanks tina g will do that we have a electronic meter we are meant to be on a net tariff that is what they tell me anyway.the inveter is a fronius how do you,how many watts make a kw finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 The unit normally clips into a metal plate screwed to the wall, either plate is not flush, or unit not hooked in and could be hanging from the pipes partly, either might… 2 15773 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
