Browse Forums Eco Living 1 Mar 15, 2011 12:46 pm I live in a three storey house with a roof-top deck. Our only small north facing roof is effectively the fourth storey. We are a two person household and likely to stay that way for some time. We currently have an off-peak electric hot water system (no outdoor area for gas system). Below is what I was quoted to convert to an Apricus evacuated tube electric boosted solar hot water (noting a bit of a tricky job given the height). Would this cost make it economically unviable over 10 years, i.e. outlay greater than savings within warranty period? Does the quote look to be in the ballpark or is it high? Any advice would be appreciated. Regards JT Inner suburbs Melbourne Quote: Both systems qualify for three rebates when changing from electric to electric solar. STC’s, VEEC’s and Federal rebate.
