I hope someone out there can help me,
My retired parents bought a house in 1991 and have recently sold it. In 1992 a family friend builder help the build a open patio out the back of the house and brick in a carport. They never had counsil approval. Now they sold the house and approval needed to be done. All work has been cleared except the because the approval is done now it needs to be energy effiencent, from insulation to the outdoor patio and ceiling fan, to all glass to be replaced in built in carport and insulation/gyprock walls. They simply do not have that money for work.
Even though these laws have come into effect from 2003, does this sound right.
