I am new to the forum and am considering buying an approx 2kw solar panel system on my roof in Brisbane. Has anyone had any experiences with SolarGen or Hembrows (in Brisbane) as their installers.
My 20 degree pitch tile roof has some space on a 10 degree W of N roof but most space on a 10 degree N of E roof. The west roof is 10 degress S of W so that is not the best position. All roofs have full daylight sun.
I am looking at around 10-12 panels with a 190 W or more output with greater than 17% efficiency.
Any comments on the best Inverters?

In my investigations into solar last week, I was told the SunnyBoy 3800 inverter was good to the effect that there was a shortage in Australia and were not going to be any available until September. Not sure if this was just sales talk.

I live in the ACT. Until now, the ACT feed-in tariff was restricted to owner-occupiers. With Stage 2 announced to start in 2 months time or so, anyone will be able to participate. I need advice on this, but this probably means that as a landlord, I could put panels on my rental property.
I am wondering how to find out if it fails, for sure the tennants wont care - they have no interest in checking it. Does anyone know if there is an inverter (or an add-on) that can send me an SMS once a week, to tell me how much got generated, or send an SMS immediately if there is a failure?
The PV shop I spoke to couldnt tell me
