Browse Forums Eco Living 1 May 12, 2010 8:21 am I have gone through Solar Choice and got this quote for some solar panels 2.88kw system 16 x 180w Suntech panels 3800 sunny boy for $7000 after REC's deducted we are thinking of adding 4 extra panels to boost it to approx 3.5kw for a extra $2000 I am very tempted by this deal, I understand there is a wait for the sunny boy's and since we are building now hopefully when my name gets to th top of the list I will be close to moving in. Quote was from Sunsavers. How does your energy provider work? Will you be paid for the electricity you put into the grid, or does the meter wind backwards. Where we are in FNQ, we will get paid 44.4c per kWh that we put back into the grid and we pay a maximum of 18.8c per kWh that we use. If we go larger then hopefully it will cancel out electricity bills. We are looking into 5-6kW system (there are 7 of us and planning a number 8 for late next yr provided the house is finished so we have enough room).
