If you want to, you can register to trade them yourself however I wouldn't recommend it. about $30-$35 plus GST at the moment. Some manufacturers offer different REC $ values so check with yours. Re: Solar Panel Recs value 5Apr 15, 2010 2:57 am So its $40 odd dollars per MW generated? 1 mwh = $40 1 mwh at wholesale rate (@$0.28) = $2800 How, what? I my math sucking? Wholesale average spot price is 2.8 cents mwh watts 1000000 x .28 = 280000 cents / 100 = $2800 Is that right? Or is it $0.0028 Which would them make 1mwh = $28 Re: Solar Panel Recs value 6Apr 15, 2010 8:36 pm Current RECs price at http://www.nges.com.au/ although I think this may be updated every Monday. Today sitting at $46.10. I believe this is for large lots. Be a little less for small lots. For a 1.5Kw Solar Power system, in Brisbane, you would generate 155 RECs. At $40 each, this would be $6,200 towards the cost of the system and is usually included when companies give a quote. http://www.orer.gov.au/recs/ Re: Solar Panel Recs value 8May 26, 2010 10:21 pm I don't know if REC's are different values in each state, but the prices plummetted in NSW about a week ago, from $42/REC to $35/REC, meaning I just lost $1100 when my RECs get registered so I can sell them Re: Solar Panel Recs value 9May 27, 2010 8:43 am The number of RECs you get in each state per product differs. If you buy the same product in QLD and in VIC, you would get a different amount of RECs but the value is determined by thew company buying and/or trading the RECs. RECs have recently gone down but are likely to go back up pretty quickly. If you are waiting for the right time to get a discount, hold off for another month or so if you can (but dont let them expire). Also, try claiming through the manufacturer, not the place you made the purchase from where possible...
