In an effort to guarantee the world's plant diversity, seeds are being stored in seed banks around the globe but these collections might be of negligible value.
Dr Kinglsey Dixon, head of the Kings Park Biodiversity Conservation Centre at the University of Western Australia, warns that collection processes and strategies must get a lot smarter to future proof the world's plants.
