OK Experts,
First let me apologise for posting in this forum
The question...
The house that I am building comes with R1.5 wall bats with foil wrap and the ceiling R3.5. Now normally I would just turn the heater up if the house was cold, but all the talk on here about efficiency () had got me thinking about "the environment" and stuff...
I have a 2 zone heater going in, zone 1 is downstairs and zone 2 is upstairs and the house is about 50 squares and is basically open plan.
Should I look at upgrading the batts? Ie if there is a cost to upgrade to R2.0 batts (or even R2.5 or 3.0) at what point does it become unfeasible? The same for the ceiling batts (R5.0??) ?
I have opted for single glazed glass, a concrete slab floor with 400x400 tiles and a few carpeted area's downstairs with all of upstairs carpeted.
"NO" I am not coming over to the darkside, I am "just looking" at the catalogue...
I will never admit to writing this thread and you will never see me doing this:
