A simple solution is to use 'heat-shifter' kits which duct air from the warm side to the cold side of the house via an in-line fan. Some people have suggested solar hydronic radiant heating but you would need a huge array to do the job. An idea proposed by Derek Wrigley is to place reflective SS panels outside to bounce light (and heat) back into the rooms. To some degree passive solar assumes a heat differential and that you would try to keep the highly occupied daytime areas on the north side. You may have to accept that artificial heating may be required. Those Sun Lizard devices might help a bit in the shoulder seasons (not very effective in the middle of winter) Meanwhile try to at least improve the insulation on frequently used south rooms to compensate and minimise excessive glazing.
