Mate dead set sometimes being eco friendly just isn't cheap. Being cheap and economical is what has gotten our urban environments into a horribly unsustainable mess. Bean counters in government departments and politically motivated decisions based on the ignorance of the community. There is no way we can continue on the present pathway in any aspect of day to day living with out having to make drastic changes to our lifestyles and urban designs.
That at some point will cost money and if we don't do it all there's going to be is someone from a government dept holding a solar calculator in one hand and looking around wondering where everyone went too.
For those that have to choose a system like I posted? They may have no access to irrigated sewage or reliable water supply. What if someone just wants to spend the extra and sleep better at night. What if they have somewhere that is environmentally sensitive?
From memory a set up like that was around 30-50g with change and while building a home (perhaps rural) faced with the above options it to me would be a pretty good thing. I'm not going to enter an argument about how many cents and hour it uses or whether it is economical verses a peddle powered whirly bird or what ever. If it was a bad idea they wouldn't make them.
