Hi!
I'm finalising plans for a custom designed house, planning to start building in late January..and I'm having a real dilemma trying to decide about home automation. I'm hoping all you great people can help me come to a decision!
Basically, the two decisions I'm struggling to make are:
a) is 'home automation' worth the investment?; and if so
b) is C-Bus the best overall option...or are other options such as Dynalite better (both in terms of value for money and also performance)
To give you some additional context, I'm very eager to install a system to control the lighting in our house - i like the idea of central control and also think it will be an advantage in the long run for energy management - and I've been coming around to the idea of multi-room audio and possibly even some level of access control.
I'm not fussed about networking or video/other media distribution as I have other plans for that side of things. Also, I'm not in the market for an over-the-top expensive solution, rather just something effective to make some of the basics a little easier!
Apologies for the really long post, but I'd appreciate any comments or advice!!
Thanks
Adam
