What if there are no nearby surfaces or they are of different distances and materials..surely you recognise marketing BS..although im assuming it comes with a set up mic to help with this.. i don't want to sound argumentive as people are allowed an opinion but to suggest a mass produced soundbar can compete or better a well set up system costing 10's of thousands is misleading and unless you have heard a few proper set ups how would you know.. I have not heard this particular soundbar but i would know about it if it did what you claim as it would be talked about on every forum or website known to man.. In saying all that im sure a lot of people would be satisfied with it but a dedicated theatre is more than just a soundbar/surround speakers .. Re: Living room / Home Theatre 8May 29, 2020 5:05 pm There are always nearby surfaces like ceiling, floor, walls. There is nothing difficult with calibration of the right reflection angles to simulate the effect. You can read reviews online as there are plenty. Re: Living room / Home Theatre 9Jul 22, 2020 3:40 pm Hate to say it but the review I read clearly states that although you won't get the same sound quality as a multi speaker system, it is really good as a sound bar. Also it only does 7.1.2 which isn't great. In summary, really good idea for someone that doesn't want a high quality home theatre. Re: Living room / Home Theatre 10Aug 22, 2020 10:23 am Wow, that's really high praise for the yamaha soundbar. I've got to try it. I've checked out the Naim Audio and Sennheiser soundbars and while they sound pretty good still feel lacking. Even the sonos soundbar didn't was quite lacking in the atmos department. Re: Living room / Home Theatre 11Nov 19, 2020 9:00 pm Simply put - if you are looking for a HT experience in a living room purpose built or with sound bars or whatever your are not going to get that experience. If you are looking for projector in a living room - you could go for budget portable ones like Xiaomi mijia or short throw projectors (if you are willing to spend) and have a dedicated HT with proper setup or skip them if you are happy with living room setup going to throw at you. sorry mate, not wasting more time on this.
