Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Sep 16, 2016 7:55 pm hi all, really appreciate any advise you can give me re our home theatre set up. I have included our groundfloor electrical plans below. Essentially we have an NBN access point in the garage. Data point will be in the living room which is where the router will be and then we have wired connections and network points in most rooms in the house. In the media/theatre room which is the bottom right room. We plan to put a tv on the wall where there is a network point, a double power socket, tv aerial and a conduits in case we want to put some cabling in for surround sound or a rear projector. Just a question for the more informed, would that set up allow us the flexibility to make those sorts of changes at a later date? I would love to have the option hook my ps4 up to a projector and play on a larger screen as well as having surround sound speaker system. Re: Media/theatre room set up 2Sep 18, 2016 6:21 pm If you want a projector in future get a power point installed in the ceiling. Also have conduit installed in the roof so you can run hdmi cables etc to the projector. Check out the AVS forum to get a better idea on what you might need/want in the future. Re: Media/theatre room set up 3Sep 20, 2016 6:35 pm you need to put x 2 data points in the living room if you want your router to sit there as you need 1 for the WAN connection back to a switch which then goes to the NTD and then 1 more for LAN connections which will also connect to the switch. Re: Media/theatre room set up 4Sep 20, 2016 9:01 pm Playing your PS4 thorugh a projector will cause you issues as the Response time on projectors arent the best. Thank you so much.
