No need to make things harder if warranty issuses come up Re: Home Technology Hub 45Jun 21, 2016 8:27 am My main home tech at this stage is going to be our hybrid solar system, which I've designed with a view to (hopefully) making us as completely grid independent for power as possible... At this stage, we're going to install 10kW of panels, and at least a 10kW storage array. The size of the storage array will of course be dependent on the cost of batteries at the time of installation, but we want to be able to expand to 15kW in the future. Objective will be from a "smarts" perspective to be able to monitor in next to real time PV plant generation, house consumption and grid dependency/feed back... We'd like to put in some Sonos gear too, but damn it's expensive... Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Home Technology Hub 46Jun 21, 2016 10:44 am Orpheus Vikas77 Hi Guys...need some suggestion. I am installing home theater in the media room with projector and extra speaker in the ceiling for atmos effect. But I also asked M to pre wire for two speakers in outdoor room and couple in bedroom. I like to link all of them to home theater system in media room. Can you please suggest what I need to install to play speakers in different zones? How can I zone them so if I want to play only outdoor room speakers or bedroom speakers? Hi Vikas, you have a good question and a tough one to answer. A few questions/notes to consider: 1. Are you going wired or wireless speakers? This will determine the reachability for the sound and any prewiring if any is required. 2. Are you planning on getting a multiform audio hub? There are various multiform audio hubs out there to control audio inputs sources and numerous outputs for playing audio in different rooms etc. 3. Depends how you configure your home theatre system as it has limitations for controlling different channels to the speakers. Typically home theatre systems can only output one audio source at a time. So if u want to watch a movie in the theatre room and listen to music for the outdoor room then you can't. Hope that helps. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 the intention is to play audio outdoor or in bedroom if we need...though it will be good to have two outputs so kids can watch movie and we can listen to music in outdoor room... I short listed Jamo for speakers s628HCs10 and Onkyo for amp...there is Onkyo amp which has two output capability. But I will explore Sonos as lot of suggested. At our electrical appointment with M, we hadn't decided what type of solution we wanted so wanted to keep our options. But now we're thinking whether or not we should have at least got some cabling done. Will cabling intercom/door bell and cctv around the house require some ugly patching if some after handover?
