I guess at the same time what the most cost effective way to sound proof a home theatre is. I don't want to go completely overboard, I don't mind if a bit of sound is audible outside of the room. Overall they are OK. If i needed more, I'd probably look at a combination of insulation and a gyprock designed for sound suppression. If you are talking walls then two layers of Soundchek plasterboard on one side then the acoustic batts in between and another two layers on the other side. You can do a lot more of course but it depends on how much cash you want to throw at it. Your builder should be able to give you an idea of price for a few scenarios. And on the bottom of the door, i attached a plastic door sweep. i had seen a couple of videos on YouTube and got this going .
