No, Blu-Ray players don't come with HDDs, just like a DVD player wouldn't come with one (there may be an exception to this rule but I'm not aware of it). If the unit's purpose (today's recorders, not VHS based antiques...) is to record content, especially if it has a tuner and can record TV feeds, then it will invariably have a HDD in it (again, there may be exceptions to this rule also...) as it is much, much more convenient for temporary storage. A put together a PC for watching and recording digital TV (it has 2 HD tuners in it), and I made sure I included a DVD burner. This Media Centre PC has been central to my TV viewing for over 2 years now. So far, I have not burnt off 1 DVD of anything I've recorded... When looking for a Blu-Ray player, if you want it to play any other media (DVDs, DVD-R/RWs, CDs, CD-R/RWs, DVD-As) you need to confirm if it can or not. There are some Blu-Ray players out there, for example, that can't even play normal CDs... Hi Rod, Thanks for your reply, it's all much clearer now. Cheers. Geoff - Decophile. I’m just in the process of replacing 2 stud walls that have been severely damaged by termites and am planning to use h2 blue pine.
