Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Feb 08, 2015 8:53 am This stuff is all completely foreign to me. We're about to start site work at our house (a KDR) in South West Sydney and we're starting to think about TV and data set up. We have three small kids, aren't gamers and pretty much only have time to watch TV (which we currently iQ from mostly Free to Air so we can watch it when we have time) a couple of hours a week plus sports on weekends. With Stan and Netflix coming to town, we're not sure what the best option is for us. It's looking like TBox plus sport would be the best bet for us, but we're most likely going to have five TVs in the house; living; home theatre; alfresco; our br and the kids' lounge - do we need a box for each TV? I assume we'll need some sort of box and a data connection for all of those? We quite happily use wireless connections for most of our computer usage right now from your standard Telstra router, I don't see this changing for a long time. Neither my husband nor I have any real idea about this stuff. As I mentioned, we're not big tele/computer users, but we'd like it to be convenient when we do watch it. ANY advice, tips or suggestions are welcome. For me that'd indicate a decent PVR/DVR might be all you want for now. Of course with a lot channels streaming their stuff now, you'll want something more than that. I'm about to revisit the idea of a 'box' that'll allow me to grab stuff from these streaming providers, but I really want it to be very user friendly, so that others can use it, not just myself. Re: Data points, pay/subscribtion TV - what's best 3Feb 14, 2015 1:53 am Hi. You will need data points for IPTV services in the rooms that you will require to watch them in. Cable your house up not only with your current needs in mind, but potential future needs.
