Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Nov 25, 2013 9:43 am Hi everyone, I'm looking for suggestions for multi-room audio. I don't know too much about how it works so need all the help I can get!! This is pretty much what I am wanting... In ceiling speakers in most rooms of the house ie. living areas, bedrooms, etc. which are turned on/off and volume controlled by a dial located in each of these rooms. They will all have the same music played on them whether that be CD/ Radio / iPod etc. from the one location. I would also like this connected to DVD Player/ TV to be used as surround sound. Can anyone offer any systems that do this? What sort of wiring do I need to enable this? Sorry for the non-technical explanation Thanks Re: Multi Room Audio Help 2Nov 25, 2013 12:22 pm Hey MrsG are you building or have an existing house? Things like Sonos 3 and 5 may suit for your in room music much more simply and could be cheaper as you don't need to buy speakers, cables, amp and have someone install them. Then just cable your home theater with speaker cabling and data cabling for your surround sound and video. Re: Multi Room Audio Help 3Nov 26, 2013 10:11 pm Leviton multi room amp. Comes in 4x4 and 8x8. Which means 4 input sources and 4 output speaker zones. Usually run some cat5 behind TV for TV sound as a source as well as a couple of airport expresses for Airplay music. Give me a call and I can give you some numbers of some installers. Can anyone help with the layout of my living room, it seems that no matter what I do it never looks right.
