Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 May 01, 2008 12:50 pm Hey gang,
Has anyone had any experience with E-HOME Solutions? These are the home theatre guys that our builders have put us in touch with and we can get the work done by them not only done during the build itself, but the cost can be added to our building contract as well, which is very appealing. So, this is just a bit of due diligence! Re: Anyone used E-HOME Solutions? 3May 02, 2008 12:00 pm ![]() Sounds like Matt and Rodd ned to do a bit of commercial negotiating ![]() Yes, its a bit of a catch-22: The bank will only approve the amount on the builder's contract for the construction part of the loan. Once the house is built and valued, then they will release additional funds for post-build improvements. However, because parts of the home theatre are best installed during the build it would be better to be able to get that done at the time instead of after hand-over. And, my builder has said that they are happy to include the E-HOMES cost in our contract, but will be adding a margin of their own. ![]() So ... it'll become a comparison of the margin charged by the builder vs. the amount saved by using a different company post hand-over. Re: Anyone used E-HOME Solutions? 4May 02, 2008 12:12 pm How about you tell me what you want and I will tell you how much it will cost and you can compare that with what the builder will charge.
I bet the savings will far outweigh the benefit of including it in the contract! Oh, I fully intend to, don't worry about that! ![]() Re: Anyone used E-HOME Solutions? 6May 02, 2008 12:17 pm I think the difference will be in excess of 30% your way!
