Can anyone tell me what I am supposed to do with the cutout? DH suggested maybe we were meant to put shelves in it, but I'm not convinced.
TIA

Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Apr 28, 2008 11:40 pm We have just bought a new house, recently renovated, and it comes with a Home Theatre room & all the equipment ... though I don't think it's superb quality but we can update it later. Anyway, the room has this wierd L shaped cutout in the wall behind the screen - see the picture:

Use it for whatever you like... Shelves, DVD storage, display your model cars.... It makes no difference at all! There is no set purpose for this wall IMO... Re: What am I supposed to do with this? 3Apr 29, 2008 12:58 am Alicante, what did the previous owners have there? The cut out doesn't look really deep?
It also depends on what you want to do long term with the room i suppose? Add some glass shelves? You could make a rectangular alcove by taking the corner of the plaster out and even put a wall mounted tv plasma perhaps on the wall in the alcove? Or bring the wall right back and fit a fixed screen on the wall? Or can you fix a screen to the wall to cover that cut out if you wanted to??? Not sure on that one - ask the guru's?? Very interesting cut out you have there regardless!!! ![]() ![]() Re: What am I supposed to do with this? 4Apr 29, 2008 10:44 am Stick a plasma in there, for when you don't necessarily want to watch the projector.... Best of both worlds...... ![]() ![]() ![]() Gav & Vanessa Building In Melbourne (Sth East Suburbs) http://www.arkraider.blogspot.com/ Rawdon Hill Construction - Canterbury Heritage Re: What am I supposed to do with this? 5Apr 29, 2008 2:08 pm Thanks, we were going to put a plasma there anyway, but it was the top part of the L that was confusing me! I wasn't sure if there was something that I didn't get. The previous owners just did the reno and never lived there so it's hard to imagine what they were thinking. I think we might just fill that part of the L when we get a chance - I like clean lines! |
