Is there any point of paying $300 for Vogels or Venturi wallmount bracket over cheaper brands like Digitek and Britek etc? Re: Are all TV wallmount brackets the same? 2Apr 24, 2013 5:38 pm My 2c on this - as a Vogel EFW6345 owner. Being able to pull the TV out from the wall and turn it sideways is a massive plus for our usage pattern. If you're never ever going to move the TV, then I suppose it doesn't matter, but we move ours regularly depending on which corner of the room, or how many of the couches have people sitting on them, or even if we want to watch it from outside. Big plus. Cheers, Dim Re: Are all TV wallmount brackets the same? 3Apr 24, 2013 5:56 pm As said, it depends on the functionality required. I have a no-name generic wall bracket and it works just fine for what it is. But if for any reason I need to move/change/add/remove something plugged into it, I usually end up taking it off the wall. A nuisance. But I don't need to adjust the viewing angle so what I have is perfectly adequate. Land settled May '14. No. Over the last 10 years I have sold all different mount types and a $30 mount will hold you $6000 TV to the wall as well and as long and a $300 mount. So what's the difference then? Why would I pay $300 instead of $30 if it does the same job? I can understand the difference between the cars if you buy cheap you get what you paid for... Re: Are all TV wallmount brackets the same? 6May 02, 2013 5:04 pm I think Matt was answering 'no' to the question in your text - "Is there any point in paying $300 for a bracket?", not the question in your topic subject "Are all TV mount brackets the same?". Re: Are all TV wallmount brackets the same? 7May 02, 2013 9:17 pm Correct Paul. Unlike a car which can perform many functions a brackets does 1 thing (keeps the TV on the wall) As long as it is made from steel and fits the TV correctly there is no advantage to the $300 unit over the $30 unit.
