Hi all,
I have been using (successfully) 3 of the 4 cameras on my home 4 channel DVR kit which I purchased from Jaycar around 18 months ago.
Yesterday, I decided to hook up the 4th camera in my garage. I didn't use the cabling that was originally supplied with the camera but rather cabling I had pre run myself during the build.
For the camera video cable it using an RG6 cable from my home hub direct to the camera. Either end has an F-Type Connection (which I had done earlier). From these F-Type connections I have then used a BNC to F-Type adapter for connection to the camera on one end and DVR at the hub end.
The power supply cable I am using is a spare cat 6 cable also pre run. I used the full blue & Brown pairs to carry the voltage. I am using scotch locks at either end so believe the connections are good with those. I tested the voltage with my multimeter and I am getting a constant 13~ Volts DC at the camera.
Now the tricky bit which stumps me, is when I connected all of this yesterday morning, all was fine right until the night....this morning I have V Loss (on that channel) and I can't figure out why! I checked the recordings through the night, it seems to have dropped out about 2-3 am.
