Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Nov 03, 2012 5:53 pm I'm thinking of getting a room pre-configured for a home theatre. I'll get the builder to: - do the construction, electrical and data - install sound proofing and isolation for ceilings and walls - conduits ( front to rear and front to ceiling for speakers, front to ceiling for projector ) What diameter and type of conduit should I be asking for? What else should I have done by the builder? I've got no idea what the sound-proofing aspects would cost. Can anyone give an indicative cost? Also - what should I expect to pay for argon-gas filled double-glazed windows around 2000x600? For the door, I'm now thinking of a single timber-framed opaque-glass door ( to match other doors I want in the house ), however the intent is to put an MDF backing on it (if feasible) for some degree of sound proofing. Preference would have been a cavity slider, however I have read these are a bad idea. The room will be around 4m by 3m.
