Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Mar 24, 2008 2:00 pm Could anyone please tell me if the sound proofing that we paid for in our home theater should look exactly like the wall insulation.
All of it is yellow. Hubby thinks that the sound proofing stuff should be white! Any ideas? Sound-proofing batts come in different colours, depending on who made them. The stuff I had installed in my own theatre is charcoal grey! Re: Sound Proofing 3Mar 24, 2008 10:19 pm Anne, our soundproofing is a greenish colour and is much denser in its composition. Our standard insulation is yellow.
Check what they have quoted you in regards to rating...If it's the same rating as that of the walls guess what they'll use??? Alternatively do they still have the bags in your rubbish??? That is an easy way to tell what they've used too. Re: Sound Proofing 4Mar 25, 2008 5:44 pm Hi Rod & P
Thanks for the reply. The contract says they are both 1.5 but does say acoustic for the home theater. We ended up having a look in the bin yesterday (great minds think alike) and there was 2 different packages one for fatt batts the other had acoustic so looks like we are right.
