Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Mar 22, 2008 11:05 pm Hi there,
I'm hoping someone/everyone? can offer some advice on the best layout for my home thearte. My current thinking is to project onto the wall between to two awning windows (the wall backing onto the alfresco), the concern is that there will be a reasonable amount of light coming in through the thearte doors (french doors) and that I should really project onto one of the longer walls to make best use of the room seating wise. So, my second option would be to project on the wall that backs the kitchen, as this would allow seating along the entire length of the other side of the thearte, I would then have to move the double doors up a little (towards the rear of the house) to allow more room for the projected image. Hope this makes sense. Any comments are welcomed. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cheers BT Re: Help with my thearte setup.....please 2Mar 22, 2008 11:26 pm BT,
What a dilemma lol What are the dimensions of the room? Re: Help with my thearte setup.....please 3Mar 22, 2008 11:30 pm Ooops....
Should have looked closer. 4.1 x 5.1m OK personally I would always go for length over width (no pun intended guys) and there for I would shoot you image towards the rear wall or the wall where the awning windows are. What sort of screen are you having (fixed or pull down / motorised?) What projector do you have? This affects the screen size you can have. What sort of speakers are you using? In walls/ floorstanding? What about the rears? If you were to go with option A you could use the "nook" to store your gear in so as not to have it in the room with you.... Re: Help with my thearte setup.....please 4Mar 23, 2008 12:02 am Matt, thanks for the quick reply.
With regard to the 'equipment' that is all totally up for grabs because at this stage I don't have any! My current TV is 13 years old.... a massive 51cm CRT In fact I'd planned on scoping the complete house entertainment setup as whatever is in the theatre has to compliment whatever I put in the living area, with regard to: * Blu Ray/DVD players * PVR * Stereo and alfresco speaker setup and I'm sure there is much more We will sign up to build this house in the next week and therefore we won't be moving in for another year, but I'm trying to plan ahead as much as possible. To 'project' or 'large LCD' is another question, I'd planned on projecting though happy to hear your thoughts on that too. You cant beat the bang for your buck in the $$$ department. Its the 'theatre' experience. Multi purpose = whatever suits your lifestyle. You may want an lcd mounted to the wall for everyday use with a motorised screen that comes down for movie watching. You may just be happy with a 50" plasma. Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7170 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits. There's only one… 7 12792 All 3 items listed are defects and are of concern. Please seek qualified independent inspector and/or legal advice for your state. 1 8231 |
