A lot of the higher end speakers are completely enclosed at the rear and makes no difference in regards to the insulation. If the insulation is in the way you could consider boxing the speaker and surrounding the box with insulation too. Most speakers are installed after the house is finished and therefore insulation is always almost moved in some way. Also depends on the type of sound you like - bigger is bassier!!
